The event aims to help local businesses find out what contract opportunities are available as part of the Dunfermline Learning Campus (DLC) (200m GBP project) and the Westfield Energy Centre. The Dunfermline Learning Campus will bring together pupils, students and staff at St Columba's RC High School, Woodmill High School and Fife College in modern, fit for purpose and low carbon facilities. The Schools will accommodate up to 2,700 students and are being designed to give flexibility in the delivery of curriculum all whilst retaining the individual school identities. The Dunfermline Learning Campus is a new state-of-the-art campus designed with learners in mind. Every aspect of the new campus has been carefully created to give learners the best learning experience. The new schools are designed to give flexibility in the delivery of the curriculum with student experience considerably enhanced through the creation of learning pathways across both schools and college establishments on a single campus. Inside the new campus, there will be industry-standard workshops for engineering and construction, a university hub so learners can study to degree level with a range of university partners on campus, a purpose-built learning café, sports hall, and an innovation and events hub to cater for different College and community events. The campus will be fully equipped with brand new outdoor facilities, including a multi-use outdoor sports area, an external terrace, outdoor spaces for its childcare courses, external dining areas for hospitality students, covered outdoor workshop areas for built environment courses and a range of outdoor teaching and gathering areas. On the day, suppliers will also have the opportunity to hear about numerous supply chain opportunities for local businesses and trades as part of the Westfield Energy Centre project. Hitachi Zosen Inova (HZI) has been appointed by Brockwell Ltd. to design, build and operate the Westfield Energy Centre, bringing new sustainable waste management forwards and reducing landfill usage in Scotland. The facility will generate more than 23MW of electricity by processing up to 240,000 tonnes of residual waste each year. Works began in February this year and the plant is expected to be fully operational early in 2025. The project will create more than 400 jobs during the construction phase and once the facility starts commercial operations, it will provide additional employment through 40 new full-time roles, as personnel will be needed to operate and maintain the plant over its lifetime. This is HZI's 15th project in the United Kingdom and the First Project in the UK where it will not only act as an EPC contractor, HZI will also operate and maintain the facility on behalf of the client for 25 years. All suppliers are welcome. Please book your free place at this event in advance. You can join the conversation on social media by using the #PowerOfSDP, #FifeMeansBusiness, and #InvestFife hashtags.
