UKRI-1991 Safety Box Pre Work Publicly Accessible Specification (PAS)

Tender description

To undertake the development of a base document guide to the safe physical storage of Lithium-ion battery cells, modules and packs and develop a pre-standards document that could feed into a future standard. The British Standards Institution (BSI) are the only nationally and internationally recognised UK body able to publish Publicly Accessible Standards (PAS). The contract was awarded following a Direct Award procedure without prior publication, in accordance with regulation 32, (2), (b), (ii) Competition is absent for technical reasons, of the Public Contract Regulations 2015.
