Tender description

Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) invites applications from suitably qualified companies to participate in the pre-qualification process for establishing a qualification system for painting and welding inspection services. The purpose is to provide independent expert advice to IÉ during fabrication, repair and protective treatment application processes. Broad experience in undertaking inspections of painting and welding operations in civil and structural engineering, with particular experience in heavy railway engineering fabrication. In-depth experience in surface preparation, painting, welding defects and all paint and welding procedures. Paint inspectors are required to be at a minimum of Level 1 or 2 NACE certified, sign off on all inspections to be completed by a NACE Level 3 certified inspector. Welding inspectors are required to undertake MPI and visual inspections of fabrication and repair processes.
