Robin Hoods Bay Sea Wall Concrete Repairs and Maintenance

<p>Scarborough Borough Council is seeking to engage a Contractor to work with its professional team to deliver the construction of a developed detailed design produced by JBA Consulting for the first phase of its capital maintenance scheme at Robin Hoods Bay. This will involve the replacement and construction of concrete panels and the parapet wall at various sections along the Robin Hoods Bays main seawall. The works to be provided as part of the scheme include: &bull; Demolition of several of the reinforced concrete panels that comprise the existing defence. &bull; Removal of the existing steel handrail at the top of the parapet along the frontage. &bull; Partial demolition of the reinforced concrete parapet at the top of the existing seawall. &bull; Construction of replacement reinforced concrete panels and parapets where demolished. &bull; Replacement of the steel handrail along the full length of the structure with new compliant railing. &bull; Drainage capping to some of the existing promenade drainage at the top of the seawall. &bull; Clearance/cleaning of the promenade drainage that will remain in service. &bull; Installation of non-return valves on the drainage outfalls at the lower level on the wall. The Council is only seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced main contractors who can deliver the whole scheme. The Council is only seeking complaint tenders for the design prepared by JBA Consulting. The Council is not considering tenders for alternative methods of concrete repairs. The Council will only consider tenders within the &pound;681,000 budget.
