Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC) has awarded a contract for the Construction of a Welsh Medium Childcare Facility - Blackmill, Bridgend. The Works being tendered had commenced in part by a Contractor who has subsequently entered into administration. That contract has been terminated and now the remainder of the works are being tendered for completion. See O6. Blackmill Works Clarifications Document which provides information on works carried out to date, to enable Contractors wishing to provide a tender with relevant clarifications to ensure unnecessary costs are not included. The following is a brief overview: The preparation of a Brownfield site, followed by the construction of a new Childcare Facility. The new building: Single storey, timber framed with a pitched roof, constructed off concrete strip foundations with a beam and block floor. The GIFA is 186 M2. Rooms include: • Play spaces. • Quiet Room. • WC’s. • Stores. • Kitchen. • Office. • Plant Room. The external works include: • Tarmacadam Footpaths. • Concrete Hardstanding's. • Soft play Zones. • Fencing & Walling. • Highways Works. • Drainage.
