Contract for Balcony Repairs, to various properties in Swansea

Tender description

Swansea Council intends to repair balconies, balcony roof, and replace balustrading at flats in Swansea. The site of the works is located city wide, Swansea. The project details are set out in The Contract Data. There are 4 types of Balcony, Types 1, 2, 3 & 4. Balconies Types 1 & 2 are very similar. Type 3 is a horizontal access ramp to rear balcony, no steps, and Type 4 is a recessed balcony in a block of flats. Type 1 is a Concrete balcony with a straight flight of concrete stairs. There are differing numbers of risers in this Type 1 stairs ranging from 7 – 14 risers. These are identified in the Activity Schedule Type 2 is also a Concrete balcony as Type 1, but has a quarter landing at the bottom, and a 5 further steps than Type 1. Type 3 is also a concrete balcony access via a concrete suspended walkway, no steps Type 4 is also a concrete balcony recessed into a block of flats 3 storeys high. It is expected that the tendering contractor measures each balcony and stairs.
