Norwich City Council acquired the site of the former King's Arms public house, 100 Mile Cross Road, Norwich, NR3 2LD for development.] The design for the new social scheme for the site includes 5 dwellings consisting of 1 x 5 bedroomed, 3 x 4 bedroomed houses and a 2 bedroomed bungalow. This is considered the most appropriate type of development in this location to meet local housing need. The housing design includes a "fabric first" approach to reducing energy use, and to ensure properties will be compliant with emerging standards for low-carbon heating and hot water. Properties are also designed to exceed national space standards and to be compliant with standards such as Building for Life and Secured by Design.
