Tender description

The Contract is for the clearance of the Acorn Farm site in St Columb’s Park, Derry. Derry City and Strabane District Council is seeking to appoint a Contractor for site clearance works at Acorn Farm, St Columbs Park, Derry. This site clearance is being carried out in advance of the development of the site as a centre of permaculture. The site clearance Works will include: • Removal of vegetation, including root balls to saplings/ trees. Shredding of materials and putting to one side on site • Removal of derelict single storey former WC block (approx. 60m2) of traditional blockwork construction. Small amounts of asbestos in the floor tiling and WC cistern have been identified in an asbestos survey report. • Taking up of existing concrete bases, crushing the concrete for use as hardcore and setting aside on site for re-use • Taking up of bitmac surfaces and disposing of off site • Removal of redundant underground services and removal from site.
