Back Up Void Contractor – Refurbishment Works

Tender description

The Council identified a requirement to appoint 2 backup contractors to assist with the backlog of void properties to be reinstated to allow the reduction of loss of rent revenue. This work is traditionally carried out in-house by Housing and Technical Resources, Building Services operatives. However, due to the Covid 19 restrictions, operatives were not allowed to carry out the required works in void properties which has resulted in a backlog of work, therefore 2 backup contractors were required to support Building Services. Building Services are conducting a Pilot Project to outsource 12 void properties to 2 contractors to work simultaneously to complete the required works within those properties. If the Pilot Project is successful, a further procurement exercise will be conducted to procure a longer term contract. Call off by direct award from the LHC via Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA), Whole House Refurbishment & Associated Works (WH2), Workstream 2 Multi-Disciplinary Works, Lot 135 to ranked 1 and ranked 2 contractors within the Lot. The contract has been awarded to 2 contractors who will work simultaneously together on the void properties.
