NOTIFICATION OF SUBCONTRACT PACKAGE A47 / A11 Thickthorn Interchange Galliford Try, as the East Region Delivery Partner are delivering the A47 / A11 Thickthorn Interchange project in the county of Norfolk in partnership with Highways England. The project will help relieve congestion at Thickthorn junction by providing two new free-flowing slip roads that will connect the A47 with the A11. The new slip roads will re-route traffic away from the junction and flow it under new underpasses. The project has recently submitted a Development Consent Order to the Planning Inspectorate and the project is forecast to commence on site in early 2023 and will take around 2 years to complete. Package: Box Jacking Outline Scope of Works The Box Jacking Package consists of two parts: Stage 1: Early Contractor Involvement. To provide technical and commercial input into the detailed design phase and to formulate the budget and programme for the works. Stage 2: Construction. To provide all necessary supervision, labour, plant and materials required to undertake the process of moving the concrete underpass structure from its assembly location to its permanent position. It is expected that this will be through the use of a series of hydraulic jacks. Principal Activities Approximate Quantities Project Management 1no Supply, installation, operation and dismantling of plant and equipment to push the new concrete underpass structures into position 2no Programme It is currently anticipated that the Stage 1 ECI works will commence in September 2021.
