Tender description
NCBI (National Council for the Blind) Group clg trading as The Wayfinding C, is issuing this Request for Tender (RFT) for proposals to develop The Wayfinding Centre(TWC) as an innovative Exhibition & Transport Training Centre (TTC) in Dublin, Ireland to assist and improve access to public transport for persons with a disability (PwDs), and others, as per the requirements of the attached brief documents and general detail below. To carry out full Design Development, Design Certification, Construction Fit Out, Commissioning and Certification to an existing building at the proposed site at Botanic Road, Dublin, conversion from factory/warehouse to a research, exhibition, and training facility. The new development, to be known as The Wayfinding Centre (TWC), will be operated as a mobility Transport Training Centre (TTC). This project is funded by the National Transport Authority. The estimated value of the project is below EU public procurement thresholds. This competition is being run by NCBI as a voluntary open procurement procedure using the Capital Works Management Framework and eTenders advertising process in accordance with the terms of this RFT. As this is a below-EU threshold voluntary competitive tendering exercise, NCBI reserves the right to deviate from the formal EU and Irish national requirements for the open procurement procedure. Purpose of the Centre: To develop an innovative transport training centre in Dublin to provide a safe and controlled indoor space where individuals, particularly those with disability, can practice a whole journey and gain a new level of confidence navigating on multiple modes of public transport. Additionally, gaining versatile knowledge of differing modes of rail transport access, ticketing and also access to Air Transport. The Wayfinding Centre (TWC) will act as an interface between the community, transport & disability sectors, government and academia.
