Go Neutral is a GMCA-led programme to decarbonise our region and deliver social value, community wealth-building and inclusive growth. Its overarching priorities are growth, affordability, and impact. This will lead us to: • Take control of how we generate, use, and trade our energy locally to create a resilient and connected energy system. • Create greener, healthier, and more affordable lifestyles. • Create investment opportunities that will support new jobs and skills on our pathway to carbon neutral. The Go Neutral Smart Energy framework will identify, develop, and deliver a pipeline of smart energy opportunities via a range of investment and delivery models. The framework will be formed around seven lots. The lots will be defined by the smart energy technologies that our public sector partners might want to deploy on their buildings, car parks and land assets: 1. Building integrated solar PV and battery storage 2. Solar car ports and battery storage 3. Standalone grid connected battery storage 4. Ground mounted solar PV and battery storage (grid connected and private wire) 5. Wind turbines and battery storage (grid connected) 6. EV charging hubs and forecourts 7. Integrated smart energy solutions The framework as a minimum will be for Greater Manchester and the North West. Lot 1-7: The GM Smart Energy call-off framework will be formed around seven lots. The lots will be defined by the smart energy technologies that GMCA partners might want to deploy on their buildings, car parks and land assets. Under each lot, partners should have the flexibility to progress schemes under one of three investment options: GMCA partner invest, shared ownership, third party invest.
