Provision of expert witness training

Tender description

Given the possibility of legal challenge to the Authority’s inspection and investigation work, the ability to clearly communicate with a legal team, other experts, and ultimately a judge, jury, or arbiter, is a skill that would be of benefit to Authority staff. Authority staff might also be called upon to provide expert testimony. Consequently, the Authority invites proposals for the provision of training services, to include the following elements: • Role of an expert witness, including responsibilities, duties and ethical considerations; • Preparation of documentation and evidence including expert reports • Preparation for Court hearings; and • Oral testimony/time in Court including dealing with cross-examination The providers will be specialists in relevant area, including forensic accounting and in law. It is expected that the training would be delivered over approximately two days/four half-days, to up to 12 staff.
