Restoration of Central Waste Management Facility (CWMF) Landfill, Inagh

Tender description

The Works comprise the installation of a capping system on the southern slope of the filled Phase 3 area of the CWMF landfill (approximately 6,100sqm) which to date has not been fully restored. The capping system to be installed shall comprise: - 150mm topsoil on - minimum 850mm subsoil on - surface water drainage geocomposite on - the existing exposed LLDPE liner. Repair works to this liner shall be undertaken by a geomembrane lining specialist as part of the Works The Contractor will also be required to move landfill gas pipelines and work around the landfill gas management system including wellheads and pipelines. The Works will also include the construction of a surface water management system to control rainfall run-off from the side slopes of the capped landfill. An integrated constructed wetland (ICW) shall be constructed to the south of Phase 3 to manage surface water before out-falling to the existing surface water collection system on site. The area of the ICW will be approximately 3,300sqm. Temporary surface water management systems will be required during construction to prevent sediment and/or silt entering the surface water management system on-site.
