Tender description

The existing Council owned public carpark site within St Columb’s Park has vehicular access off St Columb’s Park Road. The existing carpark has poor pedestrian accessibility from the adjacent Ebrington site and the existing layout and condition of the carpark is very poor. The site is in public use and can be visited, if required, without prior appointment. The Works The Contract is for the provision of a new ramped pedestrian access to the existing public carpark on St Columb’s Park Road, linking this back to the Ebrington site along the re-ordering of existing public carpark including improved lighting, drainage and boundary treatments. Re-ordering will involve the extension of the carpark into the adjacent grassed areas. The works will comprise but are not exclusive to; • Realigning boundary of existing carpark area, kerbing and re-surfacing • Provision of new access ramp and steps from St Columb’s Park Road including reinstatement of existing boundary structures at existing openings • Provision of paved pedestrian footways through carpark • Provision of planting beds, fences and hedges to boundary within and to the perimeter of the carpark • Provision of improved drainage within the new carpark area • Extension of existing public lighting installations to service carpark The adjacent park area will remain in use throughout the works and it should be noted that the adjoining St Columb’s Park Road serves the nearby residential development at Browning Drive and is a key link between St Columb’s Park and the Ebrington Site. As such this road can be heavily trafficked by pedestrians and vehicles. Please refer to CfT documents for further information.
