Tender description

The Contract is for the supply and fitting of individual property protection measures to household properties throughout Northern Ireland to alleviate potential flooding from all sources of flooding. The Employer, DfI Rivers, wish to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced building contractor to supply and install individual property protection products by liaising and working with the Employer’s external Consultant – already appointed - to help address the issue of flooding of individual households who are unlikely to avail of a community flood protection scheme. The scheme is initially intended to operate over the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 financial years with a potential Employer option to extend over two separate further years depending on Employer’s budgets and scheme uptake by household owners.The scheme is totally dependent on householder uptake and the Employer’s budget. The role of the Employer’s external Consultant will be to carry out a water entry survey of the approved property and then recommend, if this is possible for the individual property, a design of appropriate property protection measures. The Contractor will work in conjunction with the Employer’s external consultant to supply and install the individual property protection measures recommended. The individual property protection products must comply with the British Standard, BS851188 and the British Standard, BS EN 13564.
