Tender description

A47 Tuddenham to Easton Dualling Galliford Try, as the East Region Delivery Partner are delivering the A47 Tuddenham to Easton Dualling project in the county of Norfolk on behalf of Highways England. The project will complete the dual carriageway between Norwich and Dereham, supporting economic growth and easing congestion in the area. The project has recently submitted a Development Consent Order to the Planning Inspectorate and the project is forecast to commence on site in early 2023 and will take around 2 years to complete. Package: Earthworks Outline Scope of Works The Earthworks Package consists of two parts: Stage 1: Early Contractor Involvement. To provide technical and commercial input into the detailed design phase and to formulate the budget and programme for the works. Stage 2: Construction. To provide all necessary supervision, labour, plant and materials required to undertake the earthworks comprising the excavation, processing, placement and compaction of site won soils and the Import of suitable fill material to form the development platform to support the new road, structures and landscaping. The contractor will also be responsible for the disposal to stockpile or off site of any unacceptable or surplus soils and other materials generated during the bulk earthworks. Principal Activities Approximate Quantities Excavation of class 5a 224,000m3 Excavation excluding class 5a 715,000m3 Imported Fill 75,000m3 Deposition of fill 702,000m3 Compaction of Fill 777,000m3 Programme It is currently anticipated that the Stage 1 ECI works will commence in September 2021.
