Roscommon Town HTI 2021 – Repair and Upgrading of Building Exteriors on Castle Street, Goff Street & Abbey Street, Roscommon, Co. Roscommon.

Tender description

The works involve the repair and upgrading of the external facades and roofs of approximately 25no. buildings fronting onto Castle Street, Goff Street and Abbey Street Upper in the town of Roscommon (part-funded with grant assistance from the Heritage Council under the Historic Towns Initiative 2021) The area forms part of the Architectural Conservation Area of the Town and some of the structures are protected structures as set out in the Town Development Plan. These works have two objectives: (i) Preventative maintenance to the roofs, gutters, chimneys, external render, windows and shopfronts (ii) Visual improvements to the exterior of the buildings, to include the painting of rendered facades, joinery and ironwork; the removal of redundant cables, aerials, burglar alarm boxes and fixings; and the upgrading of the signage to the shopfronts.
