The Provision of Minor Adaptation

Dumfries and Galloway Council are seeking to procure contractors to carry out minor adaptations to people living in private or privately rented homes in a timely manner to promote independence and prevent accidents, prevent admission to hospital or care, enable safe discharge from hospital or care settings, and to support unpaid carers and paid carers. Minor adaptations are non-structural, temporary and/or can be easily removed from the home of an adult or child. There are 3 aspects of Minor Adaptations: - The delivery and fitting of minor adaptations, e.g. grabrails, banisters. - To carry out minor works in relation to minor adaptations required internally to properties e.g. door widening, re-siting of radiators. - To fabricate and fit external bespoke handrails Dumfries and Galloway are seeking contractors to carry out minor adaptations including but not restricted to: -Standard metal or plastic grabrails of all sizes (300 – 600 mm) provided by the Integrated Community Equipment Service (ICES) for internal and external use -Right or Left Newall post rails -Drop down rails with support leg -Floor to ceiling poles -Floor fixed toilet frames -Wall fixed shower seats - Wooden Banister Rails – Mopstick - Technical Advice - Survey/job definition and assessment - Door widening (non-structural) - Levelling of thresholds - Re-siting of radiators - Cooker isolation - Short indoor ramps - Threshold ramps - Path widening - External fabricated metal handrails - Short galvanised ramps
