Landslip repair - Meikle Cantlay

Tender description

Repair to a landslip at Meikle Cantlay, approximately 4.5 km east of Keith, the A95 has been cut into the slope on the northern edge of the flood plain, at approximately 15 m from the toe of the slope. Figure 1 shows the site location. The Grid reference for the centre of the site is NJ 21136 64788. There is a sharp, almost 90-degree bend in the River Isla at this location, after which the river channel is aligned along the toe of the slope parallel to the road for approximately 100 m as it flows under the Bridge of Cantlay. A slope failure has occurred on the lower slope adjacent to the 90-degree bend, between the road and the River Isla, immediately upstream of the Bridge of Cantlay, following a period of prolonged wet weather and increased flows in October 2019. Moray Council have closed the west-bound lane to restrict vehicle traffic across the top of the slope. There are temporary traffic management measures in place to enforce this. The overall site covers approximately 0.13 hectares. To secure a contractor to carry out the required works to a landslip at Meikle Cantlay, Near Keith, Moray.
