Redevelopment of Stirling Station - Forecourt and Internal Station Works

Tender description

Redevelopment of Stirling Station forecourt to improve access to Stirling City Centre, and internal station works to waiting rooms and customer toilets. This project covers construction works for the rail station forecourt and associated access. The design has been progressed to Grip Stage 5 and the successful tenderer will be required to develop and construct the works under an SBCC Design and Build Contract. Works will include; Rail Station forecourt pedestrianisation, including repositioned and enhanced provision of disabled parking, taxi rank, passenger pick up /drop off areas and cycle facilities. A high quality traffic-free pedestrian plaza enhancing the setting of the Category A listed structure and acting as the central hub on pedestrian desire routes between bus and rail stations, City Centre and Forthside areas. Extension of existing Station canopy. New vehicular access to the south car park directly from A9 Burghmuir Road, and associated reconfiguration of car parks. Improved pedestrian and cycle access with increased cycle parking. Replacement of roundabout and pelican crossings at Station Road / Goosecroft Road junction with a more compact signalised T-junction design to maximise accessibility and improve the links to the City Centre. Improved customer waiting facilities on platform 2 and 3 and new customer toilets. The design has been progressed to Grip Stage 5 and the successful tenderer will be required to develop and construct the works under an SBCC Design and Build Contract.
