WCC - Kingsbury Fire & Rescue Training Facility

Tender description

Warwickshire County Council (the Council) is seeking to appoint a general building contractor to extend an existing and former outdoor education building. The works will include some minor remodelling of the existing space along with some minor refurbishment to create new office and classroom training spaces for the fire service. The main contract works will also include external civil engineering ground works to provide new surface water drainage attenuation and an enclosed confined space training facility cast in concrete. In addition, there will be modification to an existing climbing tower and also the provision of a base and incoming services for a cold smoke house that will be purchased directly by the Council and installed by others during the contract period. The Council expects to appoint a building contractor on a single stage Design and Build lump sum contract and will require the contractor to further develop & produce RIBA stage 4/5 technical/construction design solutions based on significantly developed stage 3/4 approved designs/plans that have been produced by the employers own design team in a lot of detail.
