Tender for the construction of a replacement Bridge at Meenamullagan near Buncrana, Co. Donegal.

Tender description

This scheme will entail online replacement of the existing bridge and aproaches. The existing bridge collapsed during an extreme flood event in August 2017. A temporary bridge has been erected immediately adjacent to the existing and at present the LT17214 road runs across this structure. This road is to remain open for the duration of the Works. The proposed structure is located along the alignment of the existing LT17214 and consists of precast beams made composite with an infil reinforced concrete slab. The substructure contains reinforced concrete bankseat abutments, supported on piles made integral with the deck at the diaphragms. Precast prestressed concrete ‘TY’ and 'TYE' beams with an infil in-situ reinforced concrete deck make up the superstructure.
