Incinerator Building Extension

Tender description

The incinerator extension aspect of the incinerator upgrade project will comprise of the delivery of the following packages: - Service Diversions in and around the B61a - Modifications to existing building to facilitate operations whilst extension is being constructed. - Excavations of current service yard (Construction site south east of B61a) - Foundations and ground floor slabs including the main stack foundations - Contained drainage system - The new building extension will cover an overall area of approximately 13m x 40m (approximately 520m2). Its main structure is composed of seven portal frames aligned with gridlines of the existing building (to maximise the use of the internal space of the final building). - The roof structure - consisting of trapezoidal steel sheeting fixed directly to steel girders to give a curved profile in line with the design aesthetic of the original incinerator building. - Construction of extended pipe bridge (over Barn Road). - Relocation and recommissioning of existing emergency generator.
