Tender description

The services of a drainage/civils contractor to renew the failing cross-drains at Queensway Tunnel Portal. The works for this project involves the cleaning and possible repair of the existing carrier drains at all portals of the Queensway tunnel. Additional channel drains are to be installed within the road deck at specified portals. It is proposed that the existing carrier drains are cleaned and if required relined. The works in general are to take place during night-time tunnel closures. The tunnel closure dates (May 2020- April 2021) have been provided on the programme to indicate possible work windows at this stage. The works at New Quay, including the addition of a cross drain, is to be completed during a week of daytime closures.
