Tender description

Scottish Water wishes to enter into a framework agreement for the provision of design, manufacturing, fabrication and assembly of non-security rated kiosks and enclosures across Scotland for an initial 3 year period with 3 x 1-year extension options. There are 3 lots which are individually detailed with the work scope for each lot will include but will not be limited to: Kiosks and enclosures shall be constructed with an inner rigid core of 18 mm marine grade plywood or other approved moisture resistant material, encapsulated by resin bonded glass fibre inner and outer skins. Where necessary to retain adequate stiffness, large panel sections and edges of doors and door frames shall be strengthened by encapsulated box section steel. Timber reinforcement and stiffening shall be completely encapsulated in GRP. All cut, sawn or filed edges of GRP shall be resin sealed to prevent the ingress of moisture. Kiosks and enclosures manufactured from GRP shall have a minimum design life of 20 years. Hot dipped galvanised mild steel (GMS) or stainless steel (SS). (2 to 4 suppliers) (i) GMS kiosks and enclosures shall be fabricated from a minimum of 3 mm thick steel hot dipped galvanised to BS 1460:1995. Where necessary, to retain adequate stiffness, internal bracing shall be provided; (ii) SS kiosks and enclosures shall be fabricated from a minimum of 2.5 mm thick stainless steel 304 or 316 grade. Where necessary, to retain adequate stiffness, internal bracing shall be provided. Kiosks and enclosures manufactured from GMS or SS shall have a minimum design life of 40 years. Kiosks and enclosures manufactured from materials other than GRP, GMS and SS will be considered if they can be demonstrated to meet the required robustness and suitability. To be considered, kiosks and enclosures must have a minimum design life of 20 years.
