Tender description
Construction on Eastleigh Borough Council land for housing development (106 units), and the creation of a new link road through the housing development and across adjacent land owned by two other landowners, in order to reduce congestion on the nearby M27 motorway. The contractor will also provide services to market the housing units for sale. The project relates to the second and third phase of the St Johns Place development in Hedge End, Southampton which comprises 106 residential units on land owned by Eastleigh Borough Council (the ‘Council’). Affordable housing will be delivered as required by planning obligations under a section 106 agreement. The site has planning consent for the 106 housing units (F/17/80651). Phase 3 of the site is the construction of the road to link St Johns Road to Dodwell Lane roundabout (F/17/81809). This road is required for access and egress for the residential units. The land for this road is not owned by Eastleigh Borough Council.
