Repair and maintenance services of building installations

Tender description

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service is seeking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced contractors to provide general maintenance services which will comprise of minor projects, painting and decorating, plumbing services and general and reactive maintenance on premises throughout South Wales Fire and Rescue Services. The requirement is to provide an all trades service to carry out minor projects up to the value of GBP 100 000. The projects vary in size and complexity for each site and can often be time critical, as such the successful contractor needs to be in a position to mobilise quickly. The sites will often need to remain operational for which the successful contractors will need to implement robust systems of work to facilitate this. Each project is different and will cater for the needs of each individual site. The contractor will be expected to be all encompassing and manage every aspect of the given project, this includes the appointing and management of any subcontractors. The trades required are but not restricted to: — carpenters, — joiners, — electricians, — plumbers, — painter – decorators, — plasterers, — floor layers, — tilers, — foremen, — site managers, — site supervisors. The service is to comprise of the repair to all internal and external building fabric and associated external ground repairs, up to the value of GBP 10 000. The service is to include: — all carpentry and joinery, — roofing, — cleaning of gutters and down pipes, — flooring, — window repairs or replacement, — door repairs or replacements, — repairs to out buildings, — repairs or rebuilding of brick work, — tiling, — fencing, — boundary walls, — repairs to drill towers, — plastering, — decorating. The service is to comprise of the painting and decorating fire services premises across South Wales as and when required. The service is to include but not restricted to: — filling, — sanding, — painting, — glossing, — patching, — stain blocking, — varnishing, — staining, — spraying. The service is to comprise of plumbing services to fire services premises across South Wales. The service is to include but not restricted to: — sanitary repairs/replacements and blockages, — drainage, — dehumidifier repairs/replacement, — hot water boiler repairs/replacement up to 45 KW, — legionella defects and recommendations, — hose reels.
