Tender description

The Council wishes to appoint a provider for refurbishment works required at Chestnut House, Oak House, Redwood House, Rowan House and Willow House. The 5 blocks at Bishport Avenue are a high profile housing scheme and Bristol City Council is seeking innovative designs for these blocks and surrounding greenspace. The contractor must employ an architectural consultant to produce high quality designs for the blocks and surrounding greenspace. Please refer to the remaining contractual information contained in the tender pack. The contract works will form part of Bristol City Council’s programme to repair and improve the following blocks of flats, Chestnut House, Redwood House, Oak House, Rowan House and Willow House, Bishport Avenue, Hartcliffe, BS13. Section A, the works the contractor will provide for all the following works, set out in sections: • 4:1.0 Design and consultation • 4:2.0 Site preparation • 4:3.0 Resident and visitor information • 4:4.0 Scaffolding and hoists • 4:5.0 Structural survey: structural repairs • 4:6.0 Roofing works • 4:7.0 Balconies to flats • 4:8.0 Windows and doors • 4:9.0 Metal fabrications • 4:10.0 External Wall Insulation (EWI) • 4:11.0 Electrical works • 4:12.0 Stairwell head roof light, new AOV’s • 4:13.0 Environmental and grounds works • 4:14.0 Decorations • 4:15.0 Internal decorations • 4:16.0 Guarantees strip all existing EWI, brickwork and structural repairs, renewal of roof coverings, upgrading of roof insulation and renewal of roof safety railings, EWI, renewal of windows, renewal of balcony doors, kitchen ventilation, recessed balcony and walkway screen metal fabrications, internal and external decoration works, upgrading of lightning conductors, environmental improvements, including fencing, railings, and paving at Bishport Avenue, Hartcliffe, Bristol all as more particularly described in the works information.
