Re-Tender of New Build Housing and New Community and Care Facility at Former St Joseph’s Primary School, Blantyre

Tender description

South Lanarkshire Council has a requirement to appoint a suitable contractor for the construction of New Build Housing and a New Community and Care Facility at the former site of St Joseph’s Primary School, Blantyre. The project represents a joint enterprise between South Lanarkshire Council’s Housing Services and South Lanarkshire Health & Social Care Partnership (SLH&SCP) and consists of the development of a brown field site to provide 45 New Build Housing units and a Community & Care Facility providing short term residential care. The works principally comprise of the construction of a steel framed Community Care Facility and residential timber kit units, including all associated landscaping works, vehicular and pedestrian access routes. The project is a ‘mixed use’ development of Housing, ‘technology enabled’ Housing and a local Community & Care Facility. The development consists of 27 houses and 18 flats (3 blocks of 6 units) for rent. Eight of these housing units and 12 of the flatted dwellings are ‘technology enabled’ as a supporting function for the Care Facility. The remaining housing (19 units) and flats (1 block of 6 units) will provide fully accessible mainstream housing for South Lanarkshire Council’s Housing Services. This is a mini competition under Lot 19 of the Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA) New Build Housing Framework Agreement (H1 WS2).
