Paramedic Suite Refurbishment Works

Tender description

The current paramedic suite was opened in 2015 by the Minister for Health, Vaughan Gething. The facility provided teaching accommodation and space for clinical practical sessions, including some simulation. Whilst this provided an excellent facility at the time, commissioned numbers for paramedic science have continued to grow and additional programmes (EMT conversion to paramedic) have been developed, so that the space is no longer fit for purpose. Therefore, to meet the increase in student numbers and the way in which we deliver our teaching we need to reconfigure the current teaching space, which will allow us facilitate scenario based education, assessments, debriefing and peer review. To achieve the Colleges aspirations the project comprises; formation of new door openings, demolition of walls and strip out of area including redundant services. The space is to be remodelled constructing new walls and installing new doors. The contractor will be required to undertake full decoration, replacement of the flooring and installation of new ceilings and lighting. This exciting and challenging project within Swansea University will require working adjacent occupied teaching spaces.
