The education authority have a number of large rooms spread across its main sites which are used for board meetings and similar purposes. These rooms are of such a size as to present hearing difficulties for meeting participants. The nature of meetings is such that all participants may have a need to speak and be heard by others, without leaving their seats, and as such this dictates that a traditional ‘Public Address System’ will not be suitable as a solution. The authority have concluded that the appropriate solution is a specialised conference room audio system of the type where each participant has their own individual discussion device, containing a microphone and speaker, along with the control system to operate these units. Suppliers should note that due to the changing nature of how business meetings are now conducted, it is imperative that any proposed solution be capable of integrating with video conferencing systems, and in particular must work in conjunction with computer systems running Microsoft Teams to facilitate ‘blended’ meetings where some staff are on-premises while others are remote. The EA intends to award a contract to a single supplier, capable of providing the conference room system requirements as detailed below to various locations within the EA Offices Estate.
