Piling for Environmental Innovation Hub, Durley Chine, Bournemouth, BH2 5JF – Future Opportunity

Tender description

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP Council) are currently accepting expressions of interest from specialist subcontractors who are interested in providing a quote for future contract requirement for piling works. The project comprises the construction of a 2-storey timber frame Environmental Innovation Hub, concrete frame public WCs, concrete frame kiosk, and timber decking under a timber/living roof. It is anticipated that the successful supplier will be required to commence these works in November / December 2020. The Council will be issuing a quote request for these requirements to specialist subcontractors who meet the following criteria: • CFA piles, 250mm dia, to a nominal depth of 10m (depth to be confirmed by structural engineers). Contractors must have experience of previous projects using CFA piles. • Contractors must be aware of the location of the site and the restrictions that this will bring with regards vehicle movements and delivery of plant and materials. • Contractors are to be based within a 40-mile radius of the site. • The subcontract will include design of the piling based upon the structural engineers’ specification (currently at Stage 3).
