Magherafelt Recycling Centre and Transfer Station Upgrade

Tender description

Mid Ulster District Council are proposing to upgrade to the existing household waste recycling centre to include new split-level design, site office, weighbridges, concrete yard and vehicle parking sheds, and upgrades to the existing non-hazardous waste transfer station, including reinforced concrete internal push walls and reconfiguration of roller doors. The proposed development will include the following: Site clearance; Cut and fill/regrading works for the creation of a lower level skip yard for the household waste recycling centre; Completion of reinforced concrete retaining walls; Fully developing the design; Obtaining all necessary statutory and regulatory approvals (with the exception of planning permission and environmental permit/waste management licence); Construction of reinforced concrete yard areas; Construction of internal push pull walls in existing waste transfer station; Reconfiguration of existing roller doors located in existing waste transfer station and making good of previous location; Provision of rebar schedules for reinforced concrete works; Provision of all skips and compactor skips for the recycling centre; Provision of modular pre-fabricated office space; Provision and construction of vehicle parking sheds Installation of weighbridges Traffic management provision to include permanent bollards and barriers; Site security to include fencing and gates; Design and construction of associated mechanical and electrical works for the recycling centre and waste transfer station Undertaking traffic management on the adjacent public roadways where required; Installation of site drainage Provision of CCTV equipment to meet a performance specification; and Liaison with NIE regarding the diversion of overhead power lines.
