Greyhope West Embankment

Tender description

Remedial works to engineered embankment between Aberdeen Harbour south foreshore and Greyhope Road carriageway including: Demolition, new rock revetment, road kerbing and drainage works, fencing, relocation of light column. Revetment works will be within a tidal harbour environment. The site is Greyhope Road, Aberdeen, between Sinclair Road and the north junction of St Fittick’s Road and the adjacent embankment and harbour foreshore. The purpose of the scheme is to remove a section (approx. 100m long) of existing deteriorated revetment lining between the carriageway and harbour foreshore, and install a rock revetment over the same section. The existing section of cement pitched stone revetment has become undermined by erosion from tidal action and uncontrolled surface water runoff from the Greyhope Road carriageway. Works will also include new road kerbing, road drainage, headwall construction, fencing and relocation of an existing lighting column. This project is required for the long-term support and protection of the existing embankment and the Greyhope Road Carriageway.
