Buzz 42 Bus Route Service Provision

Tender description

A bus is required to continue the operation of route 42/42a in Reading currently runing from Kenavon Drive to Central Reading and Rivermead Leisure Centre. This service runs Monday - Saturday daytimes using one bus. The current vehicle is a small 20 seater due to initial route access difficulties. The future contract vehicle would benefit from being larger than 20 seats minimum and may be required to operate on an extended route beyond the current route termini. Rivermead Leisure center at one end of the route is currently being developed with a target of 2022 for completion of new extensive facilities including a full competition and diving pools. A new school is also being developed and the area has experienced residential developments which are likely to continue.
