Tender description

Contract for design of the forth bridge visitor experience walkway, encompassing options for the subsequent build and also the design and build of phase 2 as detailed in II.2.11). The competitive procedure with negotiation will be used and justified by the requirement for design within this tender. Network Rail propose to build the ‘Forth Bridge Experience’, which is intended to open up the bridge to the general public, creating an enhanced tourist attraction. The overall project proposition of the Forth Bridge Experience consists of a visitor centre located at the base of the Fife Tower on the north shore of the estuary, a public viewing platform at the top of the Fife Tower accessed by hoists from this visitor centre and a bridge walk experience on the southern end of the bridge, accessed from South Queensferry.
