Tender description

Norfolk County Council has awarded a contract for the full design and build of a car parking decking system to create c. 120 additional spaces above an existing tarmacadam car park. Norfolk County Council required tenders for the full design and build of a car parking decking system to create 84 net spaces comprising c. 120 additional first level spaces above an existing tarmacadam car park that requires a revised layout including space losses to accommodate the new decking system. The full design and construction includes: • site investigation to support the contractor’s designs; • foundations to withstand structure including making good existing carpark surfacing; • decking system structure, running surface, edge protection and cladding; • access and egress vehicular ramp and pedestrian stair cases; • above and below deck level lighting; • drainage systems including connections into existing systems; • line marking of new deck system and removal and reline existing ground level to suit new layout; • building control submission and approval; • permanent signage; • provision of information to aid discharge of any planning conditions by the employer and production of drawings and information to support any subsequent retrospective planning submission documents due to a change in layout proposed by the contractor.
