Tender description

This contract is for the refurbishment of the existing office accommodation at Crownhill Court. The scope of the requirement to ‘CAT A Plus’ fit out includes: 1) New floor and ceiling finishes throughout; 2) Decoration; 3) Supply and installation of new sanitaryware and IPS units; 4) Supply and installation of kitchenettes; 5) Supply and installation of commercial kitchen and servery; 6) Alterations/new mechanical and electrical installations; 7) Repairs/replacement of existing windows; 8) Repairs to existing roof; 9) Landscaping; 10) Works to existing car park. Plymouth City Council is following the 'Restricted Procedure'. Suppliers shall note that due to current negotiations with prospective tenants, the Council reserves the right to add and/or omit specific works (and any associated goods and services) to the contract scope to reflect agreed tenant requirements. All office demises are currently reflected to be a ‘CAT A Plus’ fit out and this formed the basis of the tender evaluation and subsequent award of this contract. Suppliers are advised that alternative tenders are required for a reduced ‘CAT A’ fit out to the office demises, details of which are included in the procurement documents. The anticipated duration of the contract is for 8 months (subject to project completion). Supplier are also advised an alternative tender on the programme for a lesser period is also being sought. The Council has taken the decision not to split this procurement into lots and the contract will be awarded to a single supplier due to programme requirements. However it is expected that the principle contractor will subcontract specific packages of works, therefore giving other suppliers, including SMEs, the opportunity to win portions of these works.
