Wattisham Training Centre - Provision of New Hot Training Rig

Tender description

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) are developing the current breathing apparatus (BA) training facilities at MoD Wattisham Flying Station, Great Bricett, Suffolk, IP7 7RA. A new training unit is required to support training and development of operational personnel in firefighting, search and rescue skills in a realistic and controlled environment. SFRS has over 600 operational personnel. The required new unit will be used year-round to facilitate achievement and maintenance of firefighter competency. The unit must enable SFRS to train personnel in accordance with National Operational Guidance Foundation for Breathing Apparatus and BA Training Specification. The contract will on a 2016 JCT Intermediate form of contract with contractor's design run by Concertus on behalf of Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service. The contract period will be six months and will include a five-year maintenance contract. The tender will be going live at the end of February 2019, with the anticipated award date by the 15th April 2019 with a start on site to be agreed with the Contractor as part of the design process.
