National Grid Viking Link and Energinet.dk (the ‘Employers’) are jointly developing a HVDC Interconnecter between the United Kingdom and Denmark. This notice is for the award of a contract for the UK onshore civil works associated with the cable installation from the shoreline to the connection point at the grid. The civil engineering works relating to the cable installation including but not limited to: — project management and planning of the works, — consenting activities, — surveys and site investigations, — design of temporary and permanent works, — signage and information boards, — site security, — site clearance and site establishment, — construction of compounds, laydown areas and haul roads, — temporary works, — highway works to enable the delivery of cable to site, — excavation of cable trenches, — engineering crossings with other services and third party assets, — provision and installation of structures and ducts for cable including any trenchless solutions, — construction of joint bays, snaking pits and lubrication pits, — soil management, — drainage and dewatering, — installation of HVDC and fibre optic cables, — backfilling of trenches and joint bays including warning marker tiles and marker tapes, — reinstatement, — supporting the employer in a high standard of public and stakeholder liaison, — interface with other contractors, in particular HVDC cables and converter contractors, engaged by the employer, — any training or knowledge sharing required in relation to the maintenance of any assets installed in these civil engineering works, — provision of comprehensive as-built records to include drawings, project records and any operation and maintenance manuals.
