Tender description

Wichelstowe Pocket Square and Footpath Swindon Borough Council invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced service providers for the provision of works to construct a pocket square and footpath. Project Description The works will include the delivery of drainage, paving, planting islands, lighting and street furniture in the square along with the completion of the raised table across the highway and substation. In order to provide a link between the Peglars Way and the District Centre car park a small square and footway / cycleway is proposed. This route will be used by visitors to the car park as well as providing a key access to the secondary school entrance. In order to deliver a safe and attractive route which enhances the public realm, high quality products as well as public art have been included within the design. The route also provides accesses into the Primary School nursery (to the north) and retirement housing (to the south) and coordination will be required with contractors who are likely to be on site during the delivery phase. The public art will be provided by an artist but the contractor will be required to work with them to install the works. Full details relating to the Works are provided in the tender documents.
