In order to maintain a first class service, Active Northumberland has carried out a review of their existing accommodation against their current and future requirements. As part of this process, the need for a community leisure centre in Berwick upon Tweed has been identified. The current proposal is for a new leisure facility with swimming pool, sports pitches, gym facilities and associated external works. The current estimated construction cost is circa 18 000 000 GBP. Advance Northumberland, a new regeneration company established by Northumberland County Council are project managers responsible for delivering the project.
