High Speed Two (HS2) Ltd (‘HS2 Ltd’) is responsible for developing and promoting the new high speed railway. HS2 will initially run between London and Birmingham (Phase 1) but will subsequently be extended to link Birmingham to Manchester and Leeds (Phase 2).This periodic indicative notice (‘PIN’) relates to the forthcoming procurement for the design and build of one of the new Phase 1 Stations to be developed in Birmingham, Interchange Station. This PIN is to alert parties/economic operators that HS2 Ltd wishes to commence pre-procurement market engagement, including seeking responses to the supplier questionnaire referred to in this PIN below. HS2 Ltd intends to procure a suitably experienced organisation, with the experience, capacity and capability of successfully delivering a design and build contract in a greenfield site with multiple stakeholders and numerous interfaces with other contracts for Birmingham Interchange Station. The successful contractor will be required to deliver Birmingham Interchange Station within budget and programme; this will include the design, construction, commissioning and handover into service of the station as well as the associated works and services whilst complying with all constraints and undertakings and working collaboratively with HS2 Ltd, third parties, other HS2 Ltd contractors and stakeholders. HS2 Ltd seeks responses to the supplier questionnaire available at: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/InterchangeStationMarketSounding/ Key elements of the scope are likely to include but are not limited to design and construction of: Birmingham Interchange station building which will be a 2 storey building to be situated to the west of the railway lines, with a concourse, 2 external island platforms, canopy structures over and various bridges. The project includes all the associated earthworks, drainage and retaining structures associated with the externals works, car parking and station building. Car parking is to be provided, located to the east and west of the railway.
