Tender description

Wokingham Borough Council procure passenger transport to and from various establishments (e.g. schools, colleges, respite care, day care, short stay establishments) within and outside the Borough for mainstream, SEN pupils and adults. Transport services vary and therefore require different vehicle types plus drivers and possibly passenger assistants. It is the Councils intention to establish a Dynamic purchasing system (DPS) for the future provision of transport services. The DPS is anticipated to be open in September 2019 and run for a period of 10 years. On 25 September 09.30 — 11.30 we will be hosting a supplier information event at the Council Offices to explain what is a DPS, how it works, registration process, how to apply, expected timetable, etc. To register your interest in attending please email: CTUgroup@wokingham.gov.uk Further details e.g. agenda, car parking etc. will be emailed to registered attendees ahead of the event. Provision of appropriate vehicle and driver to transport children from home to school and return with passenger assistant if required. Provision of appropriate vehicle and driver to transport child social care clients with passenger assistant if required. Provision of appropriate vehicle and driver to transport adult social care clients with passenger assistant if required. Provision of appropriate vehicle and driver to transport education or social care clients with passenger assistant if required. Provision of a public service vehicle with driver to operate a registered and/or scheduled bus service, including short term hire of buses and coaches with driver, calling at agreed bus stops according to a published public transport timetable. Provision of wheelchair accessible vehicle with driver to transport education or social care clients, with passenger assistant if required. Provision of wheelchair accessible vehicle with tail lift, with driver to transport education or social care clients with passenger assistant if required. Provision of wheelchair accessible vehicle with driver to transport education or social care clients and with passenger assistant if required. Provision of wheelchair accessible vehicle with tail lift and driver to transport education or social care clients with passenger assistant if required. Provision of specialised ambulance transport for education or social care clients.
