Tender description

The term contract is primarily to be used to undertake individual schemes including works on and off the highway, bridge and structural maintenance and landscape schemes. Works will include construction or improvement works, on or off highway, soft and hard landscaping and bridge maintenance schemes generally ranging from about 5 000 GBP to 800 000 GBP in value. A high proportion of the works would individually be notifiable under the CDM regulations. Access to this framework will be made available to the following public sector organisations: — Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Unitas Stoke Ltd, Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, Stafford Borough Council, High Peak Borough Council, — Staffordshire University, — University of Keele, — Staffordshire Fire and Rescue, — Staffordshire Police, — University Hospitals of the North Midlands, Stoke-on-Trent Clinical Commissioning Group, North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust. Works will include construction or improvement works, on or off highway, soft and hard landscaping and bridge maintenance schemes generally ranging from about 5 000 GBP to 800 000 GBP in value. A high proportion of the works would individually be notifiable under the CDM regulations. The type of works anticipated may include: Civils schemes: — carriageway resurfacing and reconstruction works, — footway resurfacing, reconstruction, paving and kerbing works, — patching and reinstatement works in both carriageways and footways, — works for installation of pelican crossings, — works for installation of traffic signals, — road/junction improvements, — undertaking trial holes, — construction of car parks/lay-bys, — traffic calming schemes, — cycling schemes, and — public realm works, — structural schemes, — minor structural works, — graffiti treatment, — maintenance painting of steelwork, — bridge condition surveys, and — bridgework maintenance and repairs, — landscape schemes, — soft and hard landscape schemes, — high quality public realm works including paving, kerbing and lighting, — restoration of the City’s historic parks and other heritage sites, — recreation projects including sports facilities and all-weather pitches, — strategic routes such as road corridors and cycle routes, — formal and informal children play areas including play equipment installation, — public open space improvements, — school and pre-school grounds, — community gardens and other open spaces, and — housing estate improvements. Access to this framework will be made available to the following public sector organisations: — Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Unitas Stoke Ltd, Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, Stafford Borough Council, High Peak Borough Council, — Staffordshire University, University of Keele, — Staffordshire Fire and Rescue, — Staffordshire Police, — University Hospitals of the North Midlands, Stoke-on-Trent Clinical Commissioning Group, North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust. In order to cover the costs of setting up this framework and maintaining the running of the framework, the Council will levy a 2,5 % charge against the supplier’s invoices on the fixed price for each task order placed. We will be issuing an access agreement with the above other public sector organisations and the successful supplier will be contractually liable to return the rebate 2,5 % on a quarterly basis back to the Council.
