Brief Description of Requirement The new building is required to contain space and supporting facilities for work ranging from soil sample processing to equipment storage with the ability to be adapted for other uses i.e. basic laboratory space and flexibility i.e. removal of internal walls. The building will be self-contained though is within easy access to offices and other facilities located on the site. This building will not specifically attempt to mimic the surrounding buildings although its location, scale and massing will be appropriate for its context. The building will also need to limit the amount of energy usage and low maintenance. The solution will satisfy all current regulations and mandatory standards by providing good quality space, which is accessible, sustainable and flexible which will function well and have positive impact within the site as a whole and for the individual users. This contract will be awarded based on the evaluation criteria set out in the ITQ document.
