Tender description

Avon Fire Authority are seeking to appoint a suitability qualified and experienced main contractor to deliver the redevelopment of Avonmouth Fire Station, St. Andrew's Road, Avonmouth, Bristol BS11 9HQ. The main contractor will also perform the duties and responsibilities of the principal contractor, as defined under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. Avon Fire Authority are seeking to appoint a suitability qualified and experienced main contractor to deliver the redevelopment of Avonmouth Fire Station, St. Andrew's Road, Avonmouth, Bristol BS11 9HQ. The main contractor will also perform the duties and responsibilities of the principal contractor, as defined under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. The project will comprise of the construction of a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rated 5 bay, 2 storey fire station and associated works. The works will consist of the phased demolition of the existing facilities and phased construction of the new facility, which will include an appliance bay, quiet rooms, training room and other facilities. Other works that are required are the associated external works, including hard and soft landscaping within the site boundary. The existing fire station is to remain fully operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year. The anticipated duration of the project is circa 73 weeks. The proposed form of procurement will be traditional with contractors design packages for certain elements of the building. The proposed form of contract will be the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) Priced Contract with Activity Schedule (Main Option A). ‘Excellent’ rated 5 bay, 2 storey fire station and associated works.
