Tender description

Ceredigion County Council invites applications from organisations who wish to provide minor civil engineering works within the County. The Council intends to operate a dynamic purchasing system populated with the successful applicants, and use this for further competition exercises based on individual project requirements, and price. This DPS is for minor civil engineering works for individual projects with a value of up to 100 000 GBP. Applicants are invited to complete a qualification questionnaire to ascertain their eligibility to provide minor civil engineering works within the county of Ceredigion. Further details including the qualification questionnaire and contract information can be found within the attachments area of the etender. Projects will require working on live highways. Please note general builders or property maintenance contractors need not apply. The Council has a separate framework for property related minor works. This procurement is for a dynamic purchasing system for minor civil engineering works for contracts up to the value of 100 000 GBP. Any candidate shall be given the possibility of requesting to participate in the system throughout the entire period of validity of the DPS. In practice this will mean that once the initial evaluation period is concluded and places are awarded to participants, the DPS will re-open to new applications. Ceredigion County Council covers an area of 1 783 km2 and is responsible for approximately 2 262 km of roads, 2 148 km of County roads and 114 km of Trunk roads. Highway and Engineering works includes but is not limited to: — footways; cycleways; drainage; highway and junction improvements, — traffic calming; sign installation; environmental landscaping and mitigation works; etc., — highway and engineering structures works includes but is not limited to: bridges and foot/cycle bridges; culverts; retaining walls; gabions; remedial earthworks; coastal structures; environmental mitigation works; etc.
