Tender description

The Council is seeking to appoint one contractor to undertake all design, construction works and services for the St Austell A30 Link Road project. The project is to provide improved connectivity between St Austell and the A30. The 6,2 kilometre preferred route includes a new 10 metre wide single carriageway, designed to a 60 mph design speed with climbing lanes on steeper gradient sections. Key drivers for the project include greater connectivity for the surrounding towns, improved access to employment areas, and economic improvement for the St Austell area through improved viability of commercial and residential sites. In addition to this, the scheme aims to support the regeneration of local towns including Roche, Bugle and Stenalees through the provision of complimentary works to reduce congestion and current bottlenecks in these towns. The Council is seeking to appoint one contractor to undertake all design, construction works and services for the St Austell A30 Link Road project. The procurement will be carried out using the open procedure. The Most Economically Advantageous Tender will be judged using a price/quality split of 35/65.
